About
Who makes Margin. One person.
Margin is built by Mitch Ring, a physics student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. It is independent and unfunded: there is no team and there are no investors.

Who
I'm a physics major at Illinois. I grew tired of opening five tabs every morning to figure out what was due. Margin is what I built instead.

What Margin is
Margin makes a free Chrome extension that puts college students' upcoming Canvas assignments and calendar due dates into their own Todoist, and is building a small e-paper desk dashboard that shows them.
The extension is free, and the next week stays current at no cost. The Margin Pass keeps the whole term: $9.99 a semester, bought inside the extension, and it does not renew. The desk dashboard cannot be bought yet. The details are on the pricing page.
What it is not
- Not a school service. Margin is a tool for your own coursework. It is not offered to schools or districts, and it plays no school-official role. Students install it for themselves.
- Not affiliated with any school. No school, the University of Illinois included, runs, endorses or partners with Margin.
- Not the record of your deadlines. Margin helps you see what's due. Your syllabus and your instructor are still the record.
- Not a phone app. There is no iOS or Android version.
The business
Margin is run by Mitch Ring as a sole proprietorship trading as Marginalia. The terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Lemon Squeezy, the merchant of record, sells the Margin Pass and handles its payments.
